Description
Jan Schulte is Wolf Muller. He makes music to dance to and then he likes to pick things up and bang them. He makes funky German sounds from jews harps and odd items that you wouldn’t expect. He is like an underground German version of Herbert (but with more groove in his bones). Cass makes soundscapes that melt your bones and take you elsewhere. Together they are a pretty formidable duo.
Most notably, they manage to do so without resorting to the sound’s more hackneyed tropes in The Sound of Glades, drawing upon lusher elements of new age soundscaping, sparse far eastern rhythms and a general sense of sun-kissed loveliness over any balearic colouring book cliches, all placing their music somewhere faithfully between records by Mechanica Popular, Laraaji, and Finis Africae.
